About the role

Operations is described as the central function at Amazon that ensures orders are fulfilled and dispatched efficiently so customers receive items on time.

Operations Managers lead teams to drive safety, quality and productivity, create site operational plans, and help deliver ongoing operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts at an operational site.
  • Lead other managers and create the operational plan to meet site targets.
  • Serve as the link between teams such as finance, safety and operations integration.
  • Work close to day-to-day operations and contribute to site innovation.
  • Conduct meetings across business areas, deep dive into performance and risk metrics, and prepare for varying demand levels.
  • Mentor and coach the team, acting as a source of leadership and support for managers.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor and coach managers.
  • Comfort working with performance and risk metrics and planning for changing demand.
  • Experience leading operational shifts.
  • Experience ensuring fulfilment and dispatch processes operate efficiently to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Familiarity with operations as a core business function.
