

Business Intelligence Engineer, Innovation and Design Engineering
About the role
This role focuses on combining operational data from diverse systems to create actionable automation insights such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and patterns of operational issues.
You will partner with engineering and product teams on analytics, own the insights you deliver, and receive technical autonomy plus coaching and growth support.
Responsibilities
- Transform raw operational data into actionable automation insights.
- Analyze performance metrics from robotic storage systems and run complex cross-source queries to find equipment-efficiency patterns.
- Investigate real-time throughput data to detect anomalies and work with mechanical or controls engineers on solutions.
- Build automated dashboards and investigate variations in computer vision system accuracy.
- Share data-backed insights with cross-functional teams to inform future automation designs.
- Apply statistical analysis and data-visualization techniques from exploration through production deployment to drive operational excellence.
Requirements
- Experience bringing together data from diverse systems to solve analytics problems and create actionable insights such as OEE and operational-issue patterns.
- Deep expertise in business analysis, metrics, reporting, and analytic tools/languages such as SQL and Excel.
- Ability and willingness to take ownership of insights that influence tactical machine and process design decisions.
Skills
- Analytic tooling and languages: SQL and Excel; business-analysis, metrics and reporting skills.
- Statistical analysis and data-visualization skills covering exploration to production deployment.
Work arrangement
This position is part of the Innovation and Design Engineering team, a cross-functional group that designs and builds mechatronic systems—robotics, conveyoring, automated storage and vision systems—for AMZL logistics automation.
