
Business Unit Director NV- GSA
About the role
The Business Unit Director is responsible for the sales and marketing function of the assigned Neurovascular business unit and holds full P&L responsibility to execute the unit’s strategic goals.
You will coordinate Regional Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, Product Managers and other support roles, proactively lead the team to high engagement and develop people to build a future talent pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Manage P&L responsibility of the business unit.
- Develop and execute the business unit’s annual marketing plan.
- Manage both managers and individual contributors within the unit.
- Meet or exceed the annual sales revenue target as defined in the division budget.
- Run a profitable business and meet & exceed the target for operating income.
- Ensure RSMs and sales teams meet margin expectations by implementing an appropriate pricing policy aligned with sales revenue and margin targets.
- Work closely with EMEA sales & marketing management to set and execute the franchise strategy, emphasising differentiation that grows market share.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts each month, rolled up into EMEA.
- Manage key customer relationships and perform field-based selling activities with KOLs to retain and grow the business and Stryker’s reputation.
- Understand value drivers, identify profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and validate market share in collaboration with divisional processes.
- Collaborate with other Stryker business units and Neurovascular EMEA and work with country enabling functions to ensure timely adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level and/or have equivalent experience.
- Provide proven examples of matching Stryker’s core values and an impressive demonstrable track record from similar positions at a similar level.
- Demonstrated strong leadership experience, including change management.

- Have good IT skills, e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Have 10+ years of overall commercial experience (marketing and sales), solid experience as a Commercial/Division Business Unit Leader or Regional Sales Manager in medical devices, direct selling experience (preferably in medical devices) with knowledge of opinion leaders and competitors, proven market share growth and financial delivery, experience building and executing marketing/sales budgets and plans, and fluency in German and English.

- Proven success building, managing and developing sales teams across direct and indirect channels, including setting and leveraging territory coverage.
- Ability to build engagement, use performance-management systems to reach objectives, strong commercial/financial acumen with a record of overachieving goals, and excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
Work arrangement
- Work Flexibility: Hybrid.
- Travel Percentage: 70%.
Compensation
- Germany pay range for Berlin/Duisburg/Field-based: €124.700 - €207.700 EUR Annual.
- Austria pay range: €127.800 - €212.900 EUR Annual.
- Switzerland pay range: CHF168,400 - CHF280,600 CHF Annual.
- Compensation may be presented as a salary range or a fixed amount; the role may be eligible for incentive compensation (such as bonus and/or commissions where applicable) in addition to base salary and is included in Stryker’s comprehensive benefits package.
