Deployment Vendor Manager, Robotics Delivery & Packaging Innovation

About the role

Amazon is hiring an experienced, business-oriented Robotics Deployment Field Operations Engineer to own end-to-end vendor management and serve as the primary owner of the deployment vendor ecosystem.

The role requires coordination across Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Deployment Program Managers/Engineers and site operations, and expects an entrepreneurial approach and high ownership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive vendor strategy, capacity planning, qualification, performance management, and on-site deployment support so external partners deliver on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Define and execute deployment vendor strategy aligned to Plan of Record (POR) demand; lead sourcing, qualify and onboard vendors, and act as single point of contact for deployment matters.
• Establish and manage KPIs and structured scorecards for vendor services to meet or exceed customer satisfaction requirements.
• Develop and cultivate vendor relationships, create vendor qualification protocols and contracts, and represent Amazon in senior-level partner meetings.
• Set strategic goals for vendor activities aligned with broader business objectives, including cost reduction and improvements in quality and safety processes.
• Prepare and present vendor performance reports, set up onboarding/status mechanisms in Amazon systems, and develop business cases and capital requests for projects and long-term partnerships.
• Investigate safety, quality and performance gaps and lead continuous improvement activities with vendor partners.
• Collaborate with technical leaders and program managers to influence product improvement roadmaps based on vendor capabilities and run effective cross-functional vendor meetings.
• Travel to engage vendors, build relationships, gain operational insight and incorporate customer feedback gathered during onsite visits into vendor strategies.

Requirements

• Location flexibility: role could be based in Berlin, London, Luxembourg or Vercelli; travel up to 60% across Europe and occasional international travel is expected.
• Daily interaction with many functional teams and individuals at all organizational levels and across multiple time zones.
• Regularly run multiple weekly meetings with internal teams, stakeholders and vendors to deliver program objectives.
• Liaise with subject matter experts across the organization and dive deep into deployed technologies to refine and improve processes.
• Work in a culture that encourages an entrepreneurial approach and expects engineers and managers to take high ownership in solving complex, fast-paced problems.
