

Operations Engineer Intern (Field)
About the role
Amazon Operations is the backbone of the Amazon customer experience and operates a large network of fulfilment centres and delivery stations where millions of items are handled each year; safety, teamwork, diversity and a shared work ethic are core to the operations culture.
This engineering internship is an educational experience in a dynamic, international environment where you complete a project to develop engineering skills while working with Material Handling Equipment and engaging with stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Work on a project with real impact within Amazon.
- Design, build, improve, and innovate order fulfilment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network.
- Manage, design, and implement small to medium scope integrated automation projects with system elements such as high-speed sortation, multiple conveyors, package lines, and/or robotic work cells.
- Participate in programs to train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to raise site technical knowledge.
- Support EU Controls network projects to enhance the capability to monitor MHE metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
- Develop alongside global teams to support installation and commissioning of new equipment and project-manage implementation of new processes; potential relocation to the designated work location.
- Interface with and drive various functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Preferred qualifications
Interest in or openness to join teams such as Project Management, Change Management, People Management, Planning, Contracting Management, Infrastructure or Reliability Maintenance.
Skills
Ability to apply engineering knowledge on a project, solve complex engineering challenges, and work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Work arrangement
- Role can be based in one of the listed Amazon sites: FRA3, DTM1, ERF1, BRE4, BER8, HAJ1, SCN2, HAJ8, LEJ5, HAM2, ERF3 or DUS4.
- Placement will be within operations (Fulfillment Centers, Sortation Hubs or Delivery Stations) or from a corporate perspective, providing exposure to end-to-end order processes and management practices.
